Interval training is a great way to shorten the time you have to spend
in the gym and increase your results. With some added intensity to your workout and shortened breaks you could burn more calories in 30 minutes then most gym members do in 2 hours. First if your spending two hours straight in the gym, I hope its because you are playing Basketball, Racquetball, or some other type of competitive activity within the gym!
Have you ever tried a tabata workout? How about boot camp? Both have components of interval training. A spiked heart rate and quick recovery will increase your cardiovascular ability as well as increase your fat burning ability. All while developing the muscle tone you have been looking for. You must push yourself to the max for a set amount of time and savor the rest time!
Other ways you can get a great interval workout would be running. Try sprinting for 1 minute on and 1 minute off. This will also help prevent the break down of your body as you jog/run hours on end to burn a certain amount of calories. If you are still having issues with running it may be a great idea to have a Personal Trainer look at your gait/stride and examine your shoes. You want to make sure that everything is the best fit for you.
SWITCH UP YOUR WORKOUT TODAY! WORK AS HARD AS YOU CAN --- THEN REST --- REPEAT!!
