Aquatic Center Use

Per order of the city of Beverly, children under the age of 16 MAY ONLY USE THE AQUATIC CENTER DURING SCHEDULED FAMILY SWIM HOURS. Violation of this ordinance WILL RESULT IN A TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP WITH THE BEVERLY ATHETLIC CLUB.

In order for the Beverly Aquatic center to provide members and their families with the safest environment possible, the following guidelines are being implemented as part of the Aquatic Center Code of Conduct.

  1. Pool rules and regulations are posted in the pool area as well as on the back of the Aquatic Center schedule, available for members to take. All rules and regulations MUST be followed to ensure the safety of all members enjoying the BAC swimming pool. During all family swim times, a lifeguard will be on duty to enforce said rules and to ensure member safety. All lifeguard instructions are to be followed immediately without contest. If a member has a question about any of the rules or regulations enforced they may either speak with the lifeguard on duty or the Aquatics Director.
  2. During family swim times, parents/guardians are required to stay within the general pool area (i.e. the pool deck, the adjacent sun deck, or the immediate adjacent grassy areas).
  3. In the event of a repeat rule and regulation violations, the Beverly Aquatic Center has instituted a “three strike” policy. After a child has violated three of the rules or regulations, the parent/guardian is required to remain in the immediate pool area (i.e. they must remain on the pool deck and are not allowed outside the pool structure while their child is in the water). This restriction period will remain in effect for a span of two weeks. In the event that the violations of pool rules and regulations continues during the restriction period, the child will lose his/her pool privileges entirely for a period of time to be determined by the Aquatics Director, based on the severity of the violations.
  4. During family swim times, the shallow end of the pool recreation area closest to the pool entrance will be cordoned off. All swimmers wishing to leave this area must pass the swim test. During the test each child must swim from one end of the pool to the other, unaided, without stopping, and without touching the bottom or side of the swimming pool.
